Bradford Regional Medical Center is a 127 bed medical center located in the hills of northwest pennsylvania. George Leonhardt, Bradford's CEO, decided to outsource their Information Technology function to shift the risk of implementing their new Hospital Information System to an outsourcer.

After making the decision to outsource and selecting their outsourcing partner, Bradford engaged The Copperwood Group to lead contract negotiations with the outsourcer. The Copperwood Group was asked to focus on Service Level Agreements and pricing to ensure that the final outsourcing agreement was structured to achieve Bradford's objectives. The Copperwood Group provided an integrated team of technical and legal outsourcing advisors to assist Bradford.

Results

The Copperwood Group completed contract negotiations with the outsourcer. SLAs were simplified and structured to meet Bradford's specific requirements, risk for successful implementation of the HIS was transferred to the outsourcer and the final pricing was simplified and met Bradford's budget for the term of the agreement.
